This kit is designed to convert your diamond drive driven clutch from a compression spring to a torsion spring. The advantage to this is it allows the clutch to shift out all of the way without coil binding. The softer spring rate runs cooler and frees up all of the binding in the clutch by only running on rollers. The adjustable endcap allows you to adjust the torsional spring tension so you can control how fast you want it to upshift and backshift.
We typically see a 5-7mph gain in top speed or a 4-5 mph gain of track speed when climbing with this kit installed.
600-700cc models use a 40-36 helix. 800cc models use a 42-36 helix. 1000cc models use a 42-38 helix, except in the mountains then use a 42-36.
Use our Green Torsion spring #SSI-120-170 for best results and to keep reverse working if you have engine reverse. The Orange spring #SSI-100-150 works better in 4 stroke models or models with no engine reverse.
Use our spring tool #50033 for easy adjustment of the endcap when adjusting spring tension or assembling.
